Sandy Harbor Terminal Ry
Team Track Unloading
Up through the 1950s, many towns had a team track. This was a place where businesses not located along the tracks could ship and receive freight by rail. In this scene we have a travelling overhead crane as well as a wooden freight dock.
The Fine grade Superior Sand provides the perfect industrial gritty gravel texture one often finds in industrial settings like this.
These photos are what I affectionately refer to as my Beauty Shots of the Sandy Harbor Terminal Railway. In 2005, I created the Sandy Harbor as a project layout for Classic Toy Trains magazine. She existed in my photography studio for over 10 years. In 2016, I sold the layout and moved her across the country to Maine.
